Soft Ginger Cookies

  1. cream butter and sugar til light and fluffy
  2. add molasses and egg, mix til well blended
  3. sift spices and 2 cups flour. add to cream mixture, alyternating with boiling water
  4. add another cup of flour and mix well
  5. sift remaining two cups of flour with baking soda and salt
  6. by hand, stir in flour mixture
  7. stir in the nuts
  8. drop by tablespoons several inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet
  9. bake at 375F for about 10 minutes
